View of Renovated Church from the Gymatorium
After a modest re-design which improves the sight lines to the altar, our proposed expansion plans for Holy Cross Church have been approved by the diocese. To accomplish this, eight of the originally proposed columns were removed and the altar was moved slightly closer to the congregation. The exterior design remains as originally submitted. The modified design retains the cruciform footprint and the existing church structure along with its interior spirit. Before a final go-ahead by the bishop, a financial feasibility study is required and, of course, approval by the Borough to the revision of the 2002 plans.
Our attorney who represented us in zoning matters has retired from the private practice of law, so as soon as we engage an attorney, we will begin preparing our proposal. A capital fund raising firm will also be selected and begin structuring the financial feasibility study as a kick-off to the final capital campaign.
We will need plenty of parish skill, talent and expertise to complete our project. Please contact Fr. Manning if you are willing to lend a hand to our historic project.
Let us keep praying.
